“GC SPROUTS”
-Children’s Ministry -
Objective:
Unconditionally love and embrace each child in all their uniqueness, while being a safe and familiar environment for them to learn and engage with biblical concepts and lessons.
Knowing Jesus is more than intellectual acceptance. We must foster an environment that encourages them to connect with Jesus in their hearts and accept Jesus a s their Saviour and friend.
Goal:
To help our children come to know God as Savior, Lord, King and Friend. To help foster an environment where they can wrestle with worldly issues and how they can be the salt and light in this world. Teach the Christian disciplines of worship, prayer and offering.
Practice Principles:
1) We will focus on Jesus
2) We will engage with our stories
3) We will have crafts/ snacks
4) We will pray with and for our children
5) We will develop meaningful relationships
6) We will foster a safe/ familiar environment
Our Role:
We will provide Sunday worship/ service and childcare during the adult worship (1:30 PM- 3:0 0 pm). We will also be providing care on Wednesdays for parents to attend Wednesday Prayer.
Teachers:
- Primary lead: Sharon Ryu will always lead the children’s service
- Additional Teachers: Christine Lee, Carrie MacLeod and June Stupniski
- Parents: If all teachers are unavailable/ away, parents will volunteer in lieu of
Parents’ Role:
- Prayer: Pray for your child but also for us - Communication: Keep us in the loop, share any details we can celebrate or any changes your child may be experiencing. Be relational with us.
- Reporting Absences: please let us know if your child is unable to come.
- Commitment: we are committed to providing worship, commit to worship, make this an important part of their routine and their childhood experience.
Classes:
1) Seeds: 12 months - 30 months (2.5 years old)
2) Sprouts: 31 months – 5 years
The teaching content will be the same for all ages, but kids will be divided into classes to ensure their crafting and recap sessions are age appropriate.

Please DO NOT hesitate to share any feedback with Sharon Ryu, or one of our teachers to improve our programs.
Snacks:
We welcome parents to bring snacks, especially during a special activities/ season (i.e. child’s birthday) but just please be mindful of allergies. Please ensure everything is peanut free. We are and will continue to be a peanut free environment.
